Start from easy easy Japanese! Japanese lecture for bigenner by Kamonohashi part 2

Let's learn from easy Japanese expression.

Today's theme is

"I want to ~" in Japanese.

If you came to Japan , you need to say your request like ,

I want to eat (when you are hungry )
I wanna go to bathroom(toilet)!!!
I wanna take train(or bus)
I wanna talk with you in Japanese

etc...

OK, Let's learn!!

I want to ~=私は~したい(watashi wa ~ shitai)

This is basic style of I want to ~ in Japanese.

But , depend on the cases , it will be little changed.

for example.

I want to play soccer. : 私はサッカーがしたい(watashi wa soccer ga shitai)
(this is basic pattern)
But ,

I want to eat Sushi : 私はスシを食べたい(watashi wa sushi wo tabetai)
I want to watch the movie : 私は映画をみたい(watashi wa eiga wo mitai)
I want to drink a coke : 私はコーラを飲みたい(watashi wa co-ra wo nomitai)
I want to go to bathroom(toilet) : 私はトイレに行きたい(watashi wa toile ni ikitai)

"~したい(shitai)" means "wanna play ~" if you just want to say this , you don't need think too much however , when you wanna express your request about another verbs , you have to allow the rule below

Subject + は(wa) + Object + Verbs + たい(tai)

OK? but remember , Verb's pattern will depend on the cases

eg :
Eat.....食べる(taberu)-basic pattern
want to eat .....食べたい(tabetai)-"want" pattern

Read...読む(yomu)-basic pattern
want to read....読みたい(yomitai)-"want " pattern

What do you want to do when you came to Japan?? Could you say it in Japanese too???
